Rick Perry & His Gambling Hypocrisy
The election for Texas governor is right around the corner. Whether you consider yourself a Republican, Democrat, Independent or whatever, I think you'll find this article very informative. Rick Perry has gone on the record saying that his so called "moral values" keep him from legalizing gambling in Texas. His false stance on this issue is to appeal to the conservative Christians. Despite this fact, Perry has suggested allowing video poker machines at racetracks. And apparently his "moral values" don't keep him from accepting donations from gambling interests.
Here's the point, Perry's hypocrisy on gambling should upset everybody. When you vote on November 7, 2006 for our next governor, please take this into consideration when voting. And please, vote for anybody besides the hypocrite Rick Perry.
Quote from the article: The Chickasaws own Winstar Casino, a facility in Oklahoma just north of the Dallas-Fort Worth area that is drawing Metroplex gamblers away from casinos in Shreveport, La. The tribe gave Gov. Rick Perry a $40,000 donation, according to campaign finance reports released this week.
Also from the article: Perry has received $1.2 million from gambling interests; independent Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn, $1 million; and Democrat Chris Bell, $3,000. Ironically, the most ardent supporter of expanded gambling, independent Kinky Friedman, has no donations tied to gambling interests.
Here's the point, Perry's hypocrisy on gambling should upset everybody. When you vote on November 7, 2006 for our next governor, please take this into consideration when voting. And please, vote for anybody besides the hypocrite Rick Perry.

I am still undecided on who to vote for. There are cons for each candidate, but I am tempted to vote for Kinkey. While I know it will be futile, at least I know with him is this: You see what you are getting. At least he puts his "crazy" out there for all to see.
I am sure Perry will be elected once again though. Who else is there really? We just have to pick our poison.
I am not trying to start a debate here, because one thing I've learned from working with Krit is, DO NOT TALK POLITICS with an Anderson/Winnett. I'm just throwing my thoughts out there.
Thanks for the comment. Whoever you vote for, I just hope & pray it's not Perry. I like the thought of Kinky, but he would be a lame duck Governor. I also like most of Chris Bell & Carole Keeton-Strayhorn's ideas. I'm going to vote for Chris Bell myself. But honestly, I would be happy with anybody besides the double talking, hypocritical Rick Perry.
In reality, they are all doubletalking hypocrites. That is why they are politicians. I will vote though, because I have no leg to stand on (as far as arguing) if I refuse to exercise my right to vote. :)
PS Congrats on your wife's pregnancy, I've been praying for a healthy one.
Not all are double talking hypocrites, and some are worse then others. In fact, the most consistent, least "political" would be Kinky. But, Bell & Strayhorn have also been very consistent on their views. If I had to rank them in order, I would put Bell first, Strayhorn second and Kinky third. Perry wouldn't even make the list. The pandering to the religious base about gambling being bad, then taking money from gambling interests was the straw for me.
Thanks for the prayers, we hope to find the sex next month. Sunny thinks it's a girl, I think it's a boy, but it doesn't matter as long it's healthy.
